Tyanna is the most recent MHC alum to receive a car from Wheels4Hope. We’ve watched Tyanna grow up and now she’s a student at East Carolina University. (Dean’s List, no less!) She’s always had a drive to achieve great things, and this Toyota Camry solves her logistics challenge of getting to school and work every day. We are so grateful for the ministry and partnership we’ve found with Wheels4Hope.
Success is often linked to opportunity. And, for the person willing to step up – ready to study, eager to work – the biggest hurdle can be as simple as this: Sometimes all you need is a ride.
Enter Wheels4Hope, a nonprofit, faith-based car donation program in North Carolina. Wheels4Hope recognizes the role reliable transportation can play in the life of a student, a parent, or someone juggling multiple responsibilities. Its mission is to match qualifying individuals – people who demonstrate both need and accountability – with fully functioning, good-as-new cars.
Our Wheels4Hope partnership started four years ago and, to date, it has placed 10 cars with young people who’ve lived in our care at some point. For these individuals, having a car has been a life-changer: It’s meant getting to classes – whether at ECU or Wake Tech or one of North Carolina’s community colleges – is doable. It’s meant they can continue working while going to school. It’s meant they have the opportunity to find and fulfill their God-intended potential.
How you can help
Are you ready to upgrade or trade in your car? Consider donating it to Wheels4Hope. All cars (no matter the condition) are accepted, repaired, and either sold to the public or presented to a client. It’s a great tax deduction and it only takes a telephone call (or three minutes to complete an online form). wheels4hope.org/
